Once you upload your story, it will enter our system and go through our process. Depending on the plan you purchase, we use a combination of algorithms and real human readers to evaluate and present the stories. All paid submissions are available in our online library. You can upgrade to other plans at any time here.
Upon submission, our algorithm analyzes each story pertaining structure, number of words, pages, and uses the information entered by the author to optimize searching and make sure the story will be seen by producers.
All authors can benefit from TaleFlick. Our curation is focused solely on the content, not the publisher. We accept fiction & nonfiction stories that are published, self-published, or still a manuscript.
If there's interest in your book, the optioning party will get in touch with both you and your publisher or agent to discuss the terms and rights of the deal. At that time, the rights will be determined as part of the optioning process. This is normal practice for book optioning.
English, Portuguese, Spanish, and French.
The fee helps cover the cost of the curation and evaluation process as well as the yearly hosting to keep your story active within the TaleFlick content library. For more information on the pricing tiers, please click here.
Please upload your work as a PDF file. The file size maximum is 10MB.
The fee covers ONE book or script upload, our custom curation process, and a year of hosting on our platform. You need to purchase additional subscriptions if you have multiple stories to submit. You must purchase a plan for each volume if you have a series. If your digital file is a compilation of books, we will only assess the first one - even if the story continues throughout the volumes.
Under the BASIC plan, your story will be checked by our exclusive algorithm. Under the STANDARD plan, you also get a full evaluation by a reader. Under PREMIUM, you get everything plus a customized pitch page that will be sent to our roster of producers.
We are looking for great original stories. Therefore, our selection is not based on sales, but on content and current market - meaning what studios and producers are looking for. Our curation is above all focused on great story finding, which is the core of every great movie and tv series.
The content that producers and studios look for is constantly changing, therefore we cannot predict when and if your book or script will be chosen - but it will be available in our library for the duration of your subscription. It may appear on lists at anytime, depending on the criteria we search for. Turnaround time for services like the feedback report and the pitch page is 3-4 weeks.
Maintaining the security and privacy of our users' data is our utmost concern at TaleFlick. All data, including all stories, are encrypted, and book files are watermarked. To protect your content in transit, we use 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption and 256-bit AES encryption when sitting in our servers. All data, including any stories you enter into TaleFlick, remains yours, and we are committed to ensuring that your data is not seen by anyone who should not see it. TaleFlick's data is encrypted when sent to and from our servers, submitted stories get watermarked, and any human readers sign NDAs to protect you and TaleFlick.
If you get an outside offer you can contact us (see below) and we will provide you with the next steps. Either we will decide to match the offer, or we will decline and you can option your material to the other party.
TaleFlick charges studios, producers and production companies for our recommended titles, as well as a back-end fee when movies and shows are made. We believe in our process and the ability to identify quality content, so that we can feed the ever increasing demand for original content.
We can’t download your book from Amazon or any other websites, but they can send your file to you, and you can submit it through our platform.
We are a digital-first, design-informed platform and do not accept hardcopies.
This is a one-page sheet summarizing the story in a Film/TV industry standard format, including a section called 'What We Liked,' a Full Summary, and more. This will maximize your story’s opportunity for Film/TV adaptation consideration. The book or script will be read in its entirety, and TaleFlick will create the Pitch Page for you.
A professional screenwriter will analyze and grade your story, its structure, commerciality, characterization, uniqueness, and how ready it is for production, among over twenty different aspects. It is a detailed assessment, complete with possible paths for improvement, and a guide of the next steps to take.
The average novel is 90,000 words long. While we understand that many stories surpass that, we may charge an extra fee under Standard and Premium for books with more than 130,000 words, since the assessment will take more time.
A book or script becomes a pick and gets the badges above when graded a "Consider" or a "Recommend" by a story analyst under our Standard and Premium plans. It means that your story can be searched through that filter on the platform, increasing its chances of being picked.

Yes, TaleFlick can help producers “vet” material. Please reach our to us directly at contact@taleflick.com
Yes, TaleFlick does not take away from a producer’s vested interest in the project. Our goal is to help amplify the exposure of the material. We do this by getting it into the direct hands of development teams at studios and other producers by ultimately helping the producer execute on the project and the writer to be discovered.
After you have reviewed the pitch information, we can give you access to read the whole story. There is an option on the page (Producers and Studios only) called 'Request to View'.
